It is time consuming and tedious at times, but I wouldn't say it was hard. Bootcamp was harder and that wasn't all that hard.

I would give it a 6 on a scale from 1-10, 1 being a oil change and 10 being a complete engine overhaul.

The only special tool you need is a fuel line disconnect tool and you can get that at any autoparts store. I'd install it for you for half that if I had the time.

Shop around. I have been quoted anywhere from 575 to 1200 dollars for the installation of a Saleen........Quite coincidentially, the 1200 dollar quote was from a very "Anti Saleen Blower" shop.......

The instructions with my kit were missing a few things that are in the online instructions.

It is fairly easy if your are patient. I went with the non-intercooled kit which is much easier than the intercooled only because you don't have to deal with the radiator or fuel pump, even though I plan on doing the intercooler upgrade. I never worked on my previous car before this one and I thought it was an enjoyable experience. They are right about the fuel line disconnect tool which is cheap and a torque wrench which you can just rent from autozone.

1500 is way too much. Can you find a good mechanic that can swing by your house and help little by little over a couple days? Many people said the whipple has the best instructions of all the sc.
