Higher Flow Air Cone

Higher Flow Air Cone
Alright guys another question for you all. I was at Advance picking up some pieces to finish my exhaust setup and grabbed a big cone shaped air intake filter. I used to have one on my jeep so I thought it might help until I pick up a CAI. The only problem is the Air Flow Sensor is attached to my stock airbox. I want to attach the filter to the end of the rubber tubing coming from the engine. Any thoughts on where to put the MAF sensor? And if i run with stock tune will things go haywire?

RE: Higher Flow Air Cone
Thats a no no. Unfortuantely, you cant just throw on a universal, free breathin airfilter and call it good. If you bolt that thing up to your car without having your car tuned for it, your running a huge risk of having your car run lean. Take the filter back to advanced and wait until your in a position to order a cai.

+1 to RED's post.
Also, the stock intake's MAF tubesegment is specifically designed and calibrated(ID, location, and air flow characteristics) to work with theMAF sensor, andinstalling the sensor elsewhere on the intakewith a different ID and different air flow characterisitcs will play havoc with the sensor's output signal resulting in poorengine performance, CEL's, and possible engine damage.
