There is no right or wrong choice. Which one is better for the engine? Neither. Both will place additional stress on the engine components, leading to an earlier demise than n/a. But hell, if the engine is taken care of properly, and you dont push boost past 10 psi, it will last a loooonnnng time. Push boost too high and you will need to rebuild the engine with forged internals.

No offense to anyone, but damn this topic is like oil threads. Just use the search function, and more than you could read in one sitting is available.
