On a more positive note: Let me answer a couple questions asked along the way here.....
1. When I went with the Brenspeed kitDave felt like he couldn't guarantee me 425+ rwhp without going to the Stage 3 kit. You should have some more discussions with those guys about what your expectations are.
2. I'm running the 3.4" pulley and the cheapo Saleen boost gauge pegs 10 lbs when I hammer it.

Sounds like you should do some more research about on the different Types, Twin Screw, Centrifugal, and turbo's just for a well rounded education.

Thanks for confirming that, maybe brenspeed's stage 3 kit comes with longtubes and that's why it only makes 8lbs of boost.

If the Saleen is somehow marginally more efficient than the Whipple it remains to be proven (to me at least). I believe they produce roughly the same boost and power at similar pulley sizes.
