06 GT - Manual Transmission Mount Bad
Hey all, I'm new here, and I need some help. I have a 2006 GT Convertible 5 Speed, no mods. Last week I noticed a pronounced clunking sound/feel from the right front wheel in left turns under acceleration. The car has 36,750 or so miles on it - so I went to the dealer to have it looked at. The dealer determined that there was a slow leak of gear oil that "eroded" (for lack of a better word) the transmission mount and the ruuber part of the mount was basically gone. What's aggravating about this is that the car is only 18 months old, I have a long commute to work, and I put about 300+ miles on it a week. The dealer won't fix it under warranty because of the miles and no one at Ford seems to give a cr-p. Has anyone experience this problem before? Does anyone know enough about transmission mounts to determine if the gear oil could have destroyed the mount in the last 3 weeks, or is it pretty clear that this started before the warranty expired? Any help I could get would be great. Thanks.

welcome jdbara
not sure how long it would take, foroil to breakdown
the mount rubber
what i'm wondering.....is it the Extension housing seal
that's leaking, or is it the speed sensor O-ring
either way, good luck and i hope you get it
