Trading the Kenne Bell for the Whipple 3.4
Here is my story.
I just had my motor built by Adam at ST Motorsports with the following...(BTW they built in 5 working days)
Stock Mustang block, JE blower pistons and rings, Scat forged H beam rods, Kellog forged crank, tri metal bearings, new oil pump, cometic head gaskets, arp head studs.
HP Valve job and surface on cylinder heads with Livernois springs and Manley intake and exhaust valve upgrade.
60lb injectors with clips
Big mouth TB, modified KB inlet manifold, 4" intake pipe
Clutch Masters stage 4 clutch kit
8 bolt Mcloud aluminum flywheel
GT 500 fuel kit with dual fuel pumps, dual fpdm's and harness
Kenne Bell 8 rib kit
Kenne bell boost a pump (for a total of 2)
Serp belt tensioner
Upgraded Ford Racing IC pump
Fluidyne heat exchanger (modified to fit)
It's a great setup and I was looking for 600 rwhp. All that my KB 2.6 could muster was 497 rwhp at 15psi on pump and 538 rwhp at 17psi 100 octane. Bitterly dissapointing
So my only option was to get the 2.6H and hope for the best. Adam got me a real good deal on the 2.6H and I was ready to pull the trigger.
Adam has recently modified the Whipple 2.3L manifold to fit the massive 3.4 Whipple on Kens car and it is putting down some real good numbers. I asked Adam today if he would be able to modify the KB manifold in order to put the Whipple 3.4 on my existing KB manifold. He said that he should be able to do it. I will keep the inlet tube running on the same side as the KB. I will post some numbers in the coming weeks.
I am disapointed with the KB and yes I have every inlet, tb, heat exchanger, water pump, fuel pump upgrade I can get and 538 rwhp on 100 octane. I am sure if I called KB they would work with me, but I like that Whipple. This will be the second 3.4 on a 3v and I will be the first with a hybrid KB/Whipple, man the environmentalists are going to love my new hybrid[/align]

I'm no expert and certainly no tuner, but 538rwhp with 17psi doesn't sound right.

You are correct.. I have every part imaginable to make 600-650 and my KB is a lemon. I could start fighting with them, but I want the WhippleCooler intake air temps and 3.4 liters. I think a kit will be coming soon to modify other SC's, and the 3.4 liter by itself is pretty reasonable.
