Looking at a 1999 mustang gt with cams and 373 gears and intake or a 1996 cobra svt stock. Can anybody tell me which would be faster and which is a better buy. Both cars in absolutley pristine condition. Also which car is can be modded better. Anybody have any idea what either of these cars would run in the 1/4 would be great too

This is what I found online:

99 GT - 260 HP, 302 lb ft
0-60 5.4
1/4 Mile 14 flat

96 Cobra - 305 HP, 300 lb ft
0-60 5.5
1/4 Mile 14 flat

Performance is about the same, so it's a toss up.

cobra should edge it out to be honest with you... 40 more hp, they redline higher, and cmon man, it's a cobra.

Honestly though, you should decide more than just that (which is faster that is). If you like the looks of the new edge gt's (99-04), then I would go with that. You can make the gt fast (and parts are generally cheaper for the 2v's rather than the cobra's). But having a cobra would be nice. At this point I would pick out what looks better.

Any major problems with either of these cars? Also was wondering how people feel about the looks of each of them. Also can a supercharger be put on either and since the 99 has cams and gears and intake I would imagine it should be faster that the cobra. Last even though the 99 has cams can a supercharger work correctly and which supercharger do you think performs the best? Thanx everybody

bleh, my bad, forgot the gt had mods. Chris07 was correct, should be close. SC can work with na cams, but they won't perform as good as sc cams. If the cobra is stock it probably wasn't beat on as hard as the gt was.
