Default Are 10s really that difficult with S197?

I mean 11s are just a (blower + DRs) away in S197s,3 examples:
1) Manual Mustang GT
Mods: FRPPs H.O. Whipple at 10psi, HD clutch, LCAs, DRs
ET: 11.8
"Hot Rodding Magazine"
2) Auto Mustang GT
Mods: Paxton Supercharger at 9psi, O/R H pipe, DRs
ET: 11.8
"Brenspeed"
3) Auto Mustang GT
Mods: Stage4 Saleen Supercharger 11psi, 4.10s, DRs
ET: 11.37
"Brenspeed"

So what does it take to shave an extra 1 second or less? the 3rd one needs to shave 4 tenths only to break into the 10s, will a (Drag suspension + Full exhaust + Alum DS + TC for autos) be enough?

I'm taking my new mod list to the track in a couple of weeks. I'm hoping for mid to upper 11's. The lower the ET, the more expensive it gets. Once you're in the 11's, mods like exhaust and aluminum driveshafts will only subtract hundreths, not tenths, from your ET.

I'm sure with weight reduction on that you can maybe hit off a high 10, and a few more mods. but to be consistant in the 10's it would take a forge block and a little more boost.

You're right about that, actually Brenspeed installed a 2.8" pulley (about 14psi i believe), full exhaust and sway bar delete and hit 11.19, a 0.18 difference only.

BTW with your current mods 11s are easy, good luck and keep us posted.

I just wish we had forged internals to begin with! it would be more boost then...

I looked into this to run solid mid tens imo its going to take a forged bottom (stock heads & cams w/ auto) end without a doubt if you want the motor to last and the following. Would like to get (if I ever went forged)it done with 3.31 gears to run 10.70’s which might be possible imo. I would be happy with a solidmid 10 second car and thats as far (fast) as I be interested in going for me.

ET 10.70’s-10.80's
Forged Bottom end
Whipple 16-17psi
Meth inj
540rwhp
LCA’s
DR’s
Possible 2800-3200 stall but imo might be possible without a stall with the below TB and Intake.

ET 10.30’s -10.40's
Diamond Throttle Body
Custom Intake
570-580rwhp
3200 stall
Aluminum DS
Light weight wheels
3.73’s
LCA’s
UCA’s
Dr’s

Its not difficult if you have the money!

And remember brenspeeds auto test car has a 4R70W auto tranny, not the 5R55s.

Well Jim III from JDm is now in the 10's N/A. He's got a stroker motor and a custom TCI converter, otherwise a stock 5R55s.
