I had a magnacharger installed in my car recently. Only 4.5 lbs of boost at 414 hp. With a few upgrades I will be over the 450 mark. Planning on using the steeda 90mm mass air with the cold air kit, plus changing the idler pulley.

It is intercooled.

414 on who's dyno?

"I could take a crap in a box and put a guarantee on the side of it, it would still just be a guaranteed piece of crap"

The reason you don't hear anything about the Magnacharger is because

Magnacharger = roots = FAIL

Damn, I'm going to have to put that in my sig, this is the third thread in 20 minutes I've said that in.. LOL

Seriously - like someone else said, you don't hear about them because there are WAY better options for your money. NON-intercooled? At 8 psi? Yeah, that sounds like a WONDERFUL plan.. Make sure to post pics of your connecting rods...

Again, Roush (roots) vs Saleen (Twin Screw) = Roush? Haha

Yeah........... See, the part you're missing is both those vehicles were in STOCK TRIM..

You think my supercharger is anywhere near where Saleen intended it to be? The kit I have was supposed t obe rated for 435 HP at the CRANK.. I make that AT THE WHEELS..

Go take your Whimple and stuff it.

Although, the fact that you bought a Whimple instead of a Roush/Eaton/Magnacrap only serves to bolster my argument, since it's a Twin-Screw, not a Roots..

EDIT:

Yeah, how's this for showing how efficient that blower is..

Clipped from here http://www.autoblog.com/2006/10/18/i...ge-roush-427r/

Utilizing an Eaton positive-displacement supercharger and a water-to-air intercooler integrated into the intake manifold, the system applies approximately 6 PSI of boost to produce 427 HP and 391 lb-ft

6PSI and the best they can do is 365 HP at the wheels? (they took the car to a dyno later in the article - even posted the dyno sheet)

I'm only 1 PSI above where they are, and I make more power at the wheels than that thing makes at the crank. What a piece of crap.

Its funny when you talk about something that people didnt decide to buy. They really have to jump in and protect their decision. There's alot of talk about the roots being old school but do you guys reallythink they are still building them the extact same way they were in the 60's. Most of the hype on these superchargers is coming from what the cool kid on the block bought. I know for myself I was set to buy a procharger till I heard one and I don't like the sounds it makes so Im still trying to get a handle on what brand I'm going to protect.
