Default fuel line coupling replacement??

my friend who is a mechanic thinks he is a know it all. when doing the fuel filter change on my 2005 gt he thought that the fuel line coupling that went from the fuel fitler to the fuel line needed to be picked instead of using my fuel line tool. after it didnt work i tried my fuel line trick and it worked. after hooking back up it didnt leak or anything. 5 minites later gas leaked so had to adjust the coupling and i think it might be messed up. does ford sell just the black plastic piece that has the green lock that goes from the filter to the fuel line???

I wouldnt be messin around with fuel leaks.
Its fine then starts leaking 5 mins later?
Unpredictable fuel leaks are the worst kind.
Couplings should never need to be"adjusted"
to correct leaks. They are either properly
connected or they are not.
Get it repaired at the dealership and send
the bill to your knowitall mechanic friend.
Today on the Peoples Court......

But judge, he said he knew what he was doing.......
