TCI Ratchet Shifter?
#42
I like how my car shifts when drag racing in 'D' but I hate it how it shifts when merging because of the lack of engine braking,so I always put it in 2 or 3 and get the power when I need it.Also do it when passing as well, but for drag racing it makes the car slower- it feels like it doesn't shift fast enough and there is a slight hesitation as the revs go up,it's just not free revving feeling like a traditional manual...feels alot torqier down low but that's about it.

I agree. For drag racing you can't deny the auto's D performance. But when it comes to street driving (or racing where there's turns) having it in D sucks. Manual shifting is the only way to go there.
I'm hoping a new torque conv + a ratchet shifter (if they ever come out) will give me the best of both worlds.
