Default FRPP Stingers Vs. Borla?

From what I gather, Borla makes the S-type mufflers for Ford, and the only difference between the 2 is the 4" Borla tip and the 3.5" FRPP tip. The mufflers are exactly the same.

I've been looking at exhuast clips on Youtube and for some reason the Borla Stingers sound a lot smoother than the rumble from the FRPP ones. Can anyone explain?

I'm looking to buy the Stinger axle backs for my 08GT, but I can't decide between the FRPP, which are cheaper, and the Borlas, which seem to sound nicer (to me at least).

Also, where is the cheapest place to buy the Borla axle-backs?

Thanks guys.

They are the same thing. You can even get the FRPP with 4" tips if you like. Late Model Resto has both the 4" and 3.5"

Like I said though, they are the exact same kit other that the Ford Racing one has Ford Racing embossed on the tips

IMO Ford did an awesome job using the Borla Stingers for their Racing Department

Do the 4" tips fit/look better than the 3.5"? Does anyone have pictures of their stingers?

I got the Borla. Something I didn't expect is that on a stock height vehicle, the Borla cans are visible from the side looking down at the rear wheel and you can see the embossed Borla logo. Looks pretty sweet

Nice! Now I just need somewhere cheap to buy them. Any suggestions?

Also, I've seen pictures of the borla tips sticking out a little, and also pictures of theminstalled with the tips even with the exhaust cutouts. Is this adjustable?

+1 on the FRPP I've had three different exhaust setups: Magnaflow, Pypes Mid-Mufflers<YUCK! (with o/r h-pipe) and the FRPP are by far the best/deep sounding.
