Default sudden acceleration at 3k

i think i remember seeing this somewhere and i dont think that its a problem, but when im launching and it hits 3 grand, it really kicks. i think it was said that it was somethign cam related, but im just double checking that its not a problem. thanks

I'd guess it's when something changes w/ the variable cam timing and/or the charge motion plates. It's normal.

3 grand is when v-tec kicks in! jk, sorry just had to say that! many people have said that their car really comes alive around 3 thou, definately the sweet spot in my opinion!

Sounds like there may be a problem with your tune. Call Brenspeed and talk to them about it.

I notice a boost in power 3K+ RPM when going WOT. I think this is normal pretty much. Most engines don't make all that much power down low.

That is completely normal - the engine is switching to a more aggressive cam profile.

I too have noticed this, a sudden burst in acceleration @ 3k and also I've noticed a nice bump at around 5k.

I noticed that the difference before 3k and after 3k is more pronounced with the brenspeed tune. 3k-6k is very steady for me though.. nice strong pull all the way through. I do get some wierd sounds in my midpipes if I throttle hard at about 1700 rpm with the tune though.. goes away within a couple hundred rpms, and I figured it was just the advanced timing at the lower rpm causing it.. not a backfire but as if fuel is still burning in the exhaust manifold..
