Just wanted to update my contribution to this thread. My oil is still clear, still the same level and it's been over 5 years since install, 28,000 miles on the blower.

I guess I'll update as well. About 4 years, 4,500 miles on my whipple and at least 100 (if not 200) passes at the drag strip and oil still looks new.

New update. I noticed my supercharger oil was low a couple of weeks ago and turning brown. Sure enough, I had the dreaded snout seal leak. So I did what any sensible person would do and dropped a grand on the whipple 10 rib kit. I also changed the oil and went with kenne bell's brand of supercharger oil. It's the same weight as the whipple oil but is tinted blue so I will notice sooner if it gets low in the sight glass. I'll update again after I get some miles on this setup.

How hard is it to change your oil? The KB requires a turkey baster or removing the entire blower and turning it upside down.

Buy an empty sprayer bottle from wal mart and remove the sprayer. Push the hose for the sprayer down into the fill hole on the whipple and spray your oil into the bottle. Easy. The 10 rib instructions call for you to remove the supercharger completely, but I was able to install the new snout by removing the blower-to-manifold bolts from the whipple and gently pryinh up the front end of the blower while I swapped the snouts.

There's a drain plug on the front of the whipple, I'm 99.9% sure that it's there.

So the whipple 10 rib comes with a different snout?

Yes. It is basically the same setup as the Steeda independent drive but with a nice big Whipple logo.

Are all of the root-type blowers self contained? I thought Procharger was the only self contained supercharger. That's awesome.

Yes, all the roots, twin screw, I don't know a positive displacement blower that isn't.
