Went to Maryland International Raceway today for the weekly test and tune. If you've been reading my threads you have prob seen a bunch of guys recommending power shifting to take a tenth or two off of my ET. Well it worked for a minute. Struggled with it the first 3 passes not being able to get into 4th gear but still ran 11.5s on all three runs. 4th run I let my car cool for a while and then busted out a new best 11.21 at 123.3 mph with a modest 1.55 60 ft. Next run I went out and was doing great through the 1000 ft. A modest 1.54 60 ft with an 1/8th mile of 7.14 at 98.5 mph a whole tenth faster then the run before. But when I went to shift into 4th I blew the trans and coasted to a 11.4 at 103 mph. I was warned that the trans would wear faster from power shifting, but I had know idea that it was going to go that quick. I got the car towed up to JPC ($260) where it was confirmed that it was the transmissions 10 spline imput shaft that went. The car will now get a 26 spline and 4.10s will go in while its there as well. FYI: It was the stock trans.
2 weeks at the most. No body makes a 26 spline imput shaft for our 05+ stangs yet that myself or Justin know of so they have to get a 10 spline custom fabricated.
sorry to hear that. it seems like these input shafts are the weak link in the stock tranny. this seems to happen to a lot of people. but Im interested to see how the custom input shaft works out

+1, if it turns out good it would save me from buying the gt500 tranny
