Default 2 gt super car pumps on 1 fpdm

i know how everyone says that it is not a good idea to do this but i did it. from what i hear a bunch of people are heaving problems when they do this with the fuel pressure dropping off in the top end. well i went to my tuner and he got the fuel pressure so stay at 65 psi and stayed there all the way through the rpm range. i just thought i would post this and see what kind of feed back i would get from the tuners out there and the people that know about tuning. give me all the feed back you can. thanks

I don't know how your doing it either. I guess it's possible.

There isn't a bunch of tuners here so you may not get your answer.

it seems to me that when people
do it that way, they usually add
a Boost A Pump to the system

Seems the doubled amperage draw
(two fuel pumps on one FPDM) would
eventually cause the FPDM to prematurally fail.

You'd think so. I bet that sucker gets hotter than when running a single pump.

The tuners hang out on that other forum. There are plenty of threads over there about this very thing. Lots of bickering and name calling on both sides. I like the gt500 setup, simple and reliable.

Brenspeed sells their hellion kits with 2 supercar pumps and you tap them into one fpdm. Paxton also uses a piggyback fuel pump in their kit. The 03-04 cobras run two pumps off one fpdm. The reason ford switched to two fpdm's is cause in some cases one fpdm will overheat as its not enough for two pumps all the time. It'll cut off fuel supply until it cools down.

I wouldn't want that happening.

I don't think you'll have any problems with this setup. I'm sure brenspeed wouldn't put this in their kit if they thought it wasn't reliable and the same goes for paxton. I just like peace of mind. Ford felt that one wasn't adequate enough for two pumps so now they have two fpdm's in the gt500.
