Default 15 inch rims for the track

I have 18's on my 05 stang and was wondering if I put 15" rims on the rear with drag radials, would it be ok to leave the 18's on the front? who sells 15's to fit our stangs, what would the backspacing need to be on 15 X 10's and what size tire would fit. My car is not dropped.

Send an email to Bogart and they can hook you up. It's around $900 for two wheels, plus tires. You will also have to relocate your rear sway bar. BMR makes a kit for it.

Start to finish you looking at $1400 or so for the parts and such.

Wheels and tires like this make a gigantic difference in the performance of your car. Probably one of the best mods you can have to get the best time possible.

Darren,
As Simon says (LOL) only Bogart currently makes a 15" wheel that will fit, you will also need to upgrade the rear axle studs to get them to work. As well new lugs.

IMO - unless ur going to the track 20+ times a year, or making big power 450+ at the tire, they are a bit overkill. A 17 x 9 with M&H 275/40/17 DRs (or similar) will work well and cost you ~1/4 - 1/3 the total price and no extra work on the rear axles

07 S197 has some 15 welds I believe. Slight modification to get them right. But a LOT cheaper.

Thanks for the help. I will probably just invest in some new wheels and tires on the car. I really need wider tires on the rear. When I bought the car it had some cheap MB motoring wheels 18 X 7.5 all the way around.

Pick up some nice 18x10's with some good rubber. Search the forums you will find a ton of threads on tires. Personally I would go with the BFG G force TA KDW 295/35ZR18

you can also use 1 inch wheel sp[acers and longer studs and use weld wheels.that's another option.15x10 with 7.1/4 backspace is the correct offset to only if your buying bogarts or holeshot wheels.

Good rubber means everything. Contact patch is decided by tire pressure, not wheel width.

Agree that Bogarts and slicks are overkill for you right now. There are lots of folk hitting mid 10s in the 1/4 on M&Hs.
