Loud whistle on *FREEZING COLD* idle
Anyone else ever hear a LOUD whistling coming from under the hood when the car has been sitting outside or in a garage in teen-degree cold or lower?
Whistling goes away after 1 minute of idle or less. Major issue or common occurrence?

Could possibly be your intake, espcially if you have an aftermarket one. The cooler the air the more it will whistle. After your engine begins to put off heat into the engine compartment, it would quite it down.
Just a guess

you will never guess what it is. its one of your idler pulleys. my 2004 GT did it, and now my CS is doing it. i think its from washing my engine bay so many times, i am washing the grease out of the bearing. i was getting a loud high pitched whine when my motor is real cold, like 20 degrees or less. would go away after a minute.
the fix - i took off both idler pulleys, took out the center bearings. popped the plastic round caps off. and packed them with some heavy duty wheel bearing grease and light motor oil. fixed the problem 100%
TRY THAT, i am almost positive we are talking about the same thing. took me about 30 mins to take the pulleys out, grease them up, and put them back in.

by the time you take the car in for the TSB, explain the problem, wait at the dealer, or come back another day. you can just fix the problem yourself. its really no harder then changing you oil. i will be doing the fix to my car in a week or two. let me know if anyone wants a write-up with pics.
