Spend your cash elsewhere, TB's are not worth the money. People want Tb's to make power but they just don't on these cars unless you're FI. Even then, the stock Tb is supposedly good to 500hp.

The stock throttle body is as good as the others (or at least not worth the $$ for what little you'll gain minus the headaches that some have come across) unless you go FI. Save the $$.

I've been doing a little research and I'm seeing people with only a CAI/Tune get about 8rwhp gain when going to a GT500 throttle body. Some say it needs a retune, and others say it does not.

Now, for 400 bucks I cant see spending the money - but I may be grabbing a throttle body from a 2006 6.8L V10 today which is supposed to be the throttle body Ford used on the GT500's and it will only cost me 100.00 shipped. I will have to make a small spacer plate (I'm assuming the larger throttle blades hit the inside of the stock intake), but if you have any fabrication skills making a plate with 4 bolt holes and two throttle plate holes should not be a problem at all.

Once I get UDP's I think I will be done in the power improvement area for my car since my wife drives it more than I do, but I will get some dyno numbers at that time.

I know what they have in common....
No power gains and more troubles that you can shake a stick at.
Keep the OEM TB and spend the $$ elsewhere.
Some mods are just not to be done.

Save your money on the throttle body
Blown cars are running 500whp with the stock throttle body

Get some gears!!

i wish i had dyno access for some before and after runs, but for 100 bucks im pretty sure it will work out to be a good deal. there was another mustang forum site that i wont link cause they dont like that - but a guy did dyno pulls before and after and got 8hp at the tire.

There are plenty of other mods you can do that will be more beneficial that a TB. If you really want to get a bigger TB, stick with the GT500 one.
