Default 2006 Stang: Dead Battery & cannot Jump it! Help Please

Guys,

i'm hoping someone has some experience with this.

a. battery appears to be very dead (i believe i accidentally left the radio on after drivng it 1 week ago).
b. tried to jump today...after attaching jumper cables it acted like everything was going to be fine (interior lights, radio, etc suddenly woke up!) until i got into the stang and turned on the ignition...at that point all interior lights, radio, etc. went totally dead. Also, some of the gauge needles were 'clicking' until i turned on the keys (you could see them pulsing while the jumping process was active)
c. subsequent attempts to jump failed. Rechecked all jump cable connections. Still nothing. Totally dead on inside of my stang

It it possible i blew a fuse or something? Where should i look?

Any help would be very much appreciated. My car is dead in the driveway.

thx
dh

Sounds like you blow a fuse, at the passengers feets, at the right side there is a hatch, inside you have some fuses. One of those blew when I changed my tune. The car was as you describe it, dead.

So check the fuse there, I cant remember exactly witch it was but I will see if I can find out. good luck.

If the battery is that stone dead AND the jumper cables are sub-par, it's possible there's a lot of voltage drop due to the current your battery is pulling from the charging vehicle. You may need to let the battery charge for a bit (15-30 minutes perhaps) before trying to start it. Better yet would be to put a charger on it overnite. Hopefully, your battery can recover.

Well, i did try to check the fuses first...but couldn't figure out how to remove the fuse cover behind the trim panel on the passenger side. Is there a special technique for this? I also checked the power distribution box under the hood (passenger side). In this case i could visibly inspect 'most' of the fuses...all seemed ok. (i dont know how to check the big block relays, however).

If anyone has any advice for getting the fuse cover off (in the passenger side footwell) please let me know. Afterwards I'm moving towards possibly buying a battery charger and trying that route.

thx

Default Try this

When my 06 GT did this and i put the charger on the battery, the antitheft activated. Try again and use keyfob to lock then unlock the car to defeat the antitheft.

MrBill04,

You are a genius! That was the problem. Not fuses, not battery cables, but...the antitheft!

Sincere thanks to you Sir!
