I think everyone will find different #'s from different people/places. But for me, the MPG stayed the same. I average 20mpg the trip down. About 200mi one way. Got 20mpg on the way back. That part is unchanged.

As for the low end, well when it sputters for that brief second crusing in the 2k - 3k rpm range, yeah it loses there. But normal "around the town" driving is unchanged for the most part cause your always starting out under 2000rpm typically.

But after 3300rpm it comes alive and I can say this, even though I don't know how much I picked up in rwhp, its noticable in the high end.

Probably a hesitation. Loses power for a split second.

I was just offerend a suggestion from someone else, not on here, that sputter I'm talking about is a possible tuning issue, or could be spark plugs are fouled.

Apparently someone else with the FRPP cams experienced the same thing. Turned out to be plugs.

The sputter I'm refering to is basically a hesitation in the throttle.

Example: cruising at 70mph on the highway, in 5th turing 2600rpms. All I have to do is push the pedal down, and the car sputters/hesitates for a brief couple seconds till it gets above 3000rpms. After that it smooths out and picks up power.

I might just be picky here, and want it to be smooth. Maybe this is normal characteristics of the Thumpr. From what Brenspeeds says, it is normal and that its just part of the design.

But I'm still leary here, I have to think there is possibility its the tuning causing it, or sparkplugs. If it truly were cams causing a misfire, shouldn't it act funny or hesitate throughout the whole powerband and not just 2k - 3k?

in your case doctorj, i think either the
timing or idle setting would be the cause,
for your one or two seconds of dieseling.

you can adjust both settings, with your
hand held tuner.

Didn't think about that.

Its in the global spark managment, 0-2000, 2000-4000, and 4000 - 6000rpm?

I could advance/retard it a couple degrees. I also have a Bamatune I'll try tonight, but I think I'll try this first.

i'm not sure if you have SCT or not, but
basically you have a global and range settings.

of course you just want to play with the 0-2000
range.

Trust me, its buging me. I did take notice "after I left Brenspeed of course" I did notice more of a raw fuel smell. And with the motor dieseling like that, it could be plugs after all. I'll play with the tuning tonight and test.

when you get a dyno tune they should be able to work it out.
