So, can anyone tell me about racing a RX-8? Does the Mustang win, lose, draw? Will I beat my boss on horsepower alone, or the fact that he is a fairly inexperienced driver?

Help, I must know...

OK, if you must know......RX-8 pulled up along side me at about 55 and 2 or 3 times sped up like he was fast and then slowed till I caught up. So I went to 3rd and pulled up to him...he started going for it so I did too....at about 60 we were even, 65 I was waving to him in my rear view. I wouldn't even count that as a kill but he tried me again from a 2nd gear roll and as soon as I got into it he was done, chirped third for good measure and thought it was all done. I rolled down my window at the next light and he just pulled up and kept his window up. I rolled mine back up and he was creeping forward so I knew he was going to go again. Sure enough, that little rotax was screaming as I was roasting the P235's, hit second and the pony just lept in front of that RX-8 like it was standing still. Next light there was traffic and he turned off.

So I know a modded RX-8 could probably smoke me and the other guy may have been a really bad driver but I won't hesitate to hand another RX-8 its a$$ if provoked.

Of course! The more Mustangs (and owners) the better!

Competition should be whoever wants to run against you

And just because GM stopped the F-bodies...doesn't mean there aren't a whole slew of 'em running around in the streets. Gotta watch out for that LS1
