Default Vert top and rear defroster

Ok, I noticed that even when the top is down you can turn on the rear defroster. I’d think that if you left it on for a bit, it would damage the material. Anyone else have any thoughts on this? I’m surprised that the defroster can be turned on with the top down

I noticed that too....

I would not think it would be a very good idea, but they don't get hot enough to melt anything.
