i'm assuming you are trying to reset it because your going into the dealer for warranty work and you have a tune installed and your going back to stock. maybe im just lucky, but i left my tune installed and took it to the dealer and they didnt say anything about it at all. all the warranty work was done and have a nice day was all they said.

It really doesn't matter if it's the positive or negative cable, as long as you kill power to the PCM. As far as time, I've heard 15 minutes being the shortest interval with 30 minutes being a safe number.
Resetting the PCM will reset the adaptive learning (which tends to cause our Stangs to become less aggressive) while not affecting the loaded tune.

It really doesn't matter if it's the positive or negative cable, as long as you kill power to the PCM. As far as time, I've heard 15 minutes being the shortest interval with 30 minutes being a safe number.
Resetting the PCM will reset the adaptive learning (which tends to cause our Stangs to become less aggressive) while not affecting the loaded tune.

Pulling the positive lead without removing the negative lead
first puts you in risk of danger from shorting
out the wrench to the body thats negative and shorting
out the battery. Also finger rings are a big no no as
if they short the battery thru the wrench, they will get
red hot pronto and burn a ring around your finger.
20 minutes to reset computer as per the Workshop Manual.
Reloading tunes does not reset the adaptive learning.
Follow the OwnersManual for the proper re-learning procedure.
