Not that I don't appreciate your enthusisam toward paying extra money every year for your vehicle regiatration, but do you know how bad of an idea it is to post your tag number on the internet? It's pretty easy with free sites, and VERY easy with subscription sites to input a tag number and get everything from a name and address to a vin number, loan number, lender, and any other bit of info that you really didn't think was accessable.

You are absolutely right. And I am sure that there are twice as many people that walk by the car and look at the tag that there would be that have access to it on the internet [sm=nono.gif]

I installed my TRex Grill last night... will put the horse back on this afternoon, had to bring it to work so I could sand the backside to match the curve of the grill.

I am on the fence between Magget's and hawgman's thoughts on the license plate issue. It would be nice to completely protect one's anonymity on the internet, but that is probably an exercise in futility. Just like trying to theft-proof your car, if someone wants the car (or your info) bad enough, they can get it... and you can't stop them. Especially, with something like a license plate. It is mandatory that it be out on display for thousands of people to see everyday. I'm just not sure what extra measure of security or protection I might get by masking/hiding my plates on internet pictures. I suppose I would be more concerned about someone here in San Diego who wants to do me harm, than someone in Texas, Florida, New York or wherever who just happened to see my plates on the internet.

I didn't mind knowing that someone could look up my address or my name from my plates. When it started bothering me was when I did a search on my own plates and it also told me the VIN of the car, my loan number, my purchase price, who the loan was through, who my insurance company was, what dealer I bought it at, and offered links to my drivers license number. That was when I decided I didn't want to go out of my way to put it up on the net.
