dyno it. It'll give you an idea of where you peak power is. That's where you want to shift.

I can leave at about 1900, sidesteping and flooring, without the pirellis spinning too much and at about 5700 after that because the car is still pulling but I don't want to go much higher because I can't afford a new 4.6.

In stock form, my peak hp was at 5700rpm (w/auto trans). I believe mine shifts at the track somewhere around 6100-6200rpm... rev limiter kicks in around 6600.

Don is that a custom rev limit 6600? Also, when do you hit peak torque?

Yes, the Predator increased the rev limit.

These were the dyno numbers for stock (I haven't had a dyno with the CAI+Pred tune):

257.1rwhp @ 5690 rpm
274 ft/lb tq @ 4246 hp
Temp was 60F. A/F ratio stayed between 11.4 - 11.8 from 4000-5700rpm.

Bouncing off the rev limiter is necessarily bad. It will just cut off fuel when hit. It's there for a reason and is set below actual rpms that will cause damage. However miss a high rpm shift and you can kiss some things goodbye.

Don't you mean: "Bouncing off the rev limiter is not necessarily bad"?
