Congrats on the RST It's a great clutch. It is one of Very few I recommend for the S197.

I would do another vacuum pull on the system to see if it helps on the engagement pedal height.

hey Bruce i'm glad the RST is in and it
will feel even better, after it's broke in. if you
feel that slight shudder when taking off in first,
that will go away after awhile.

the rattle really annoyed me in the beginning, but
i've since adjusted my driving habits and rarely ever
get into the rattle zone anymore.

I had a TOB go out on me, left me stranded with an hour tow truck ride. If I don't end up getting a 500, I'll be putting in the RST for my next clutch.

Another vaccum pull would prbably be a great idea. My RST engages just like the stock unit. Very happy with it. You will enjoy it.

Where is the stock clutch supposed to engage? Mine engages with the pedal about 3/4 up from the floor. Always thought that was strange.

Push the pedal down about an inch and it already starts dis-engauging.

That's normal for the stock clutch. The stock clutch is actually fairly durable and pretty smooth and easy to use.

That is really my only complaint. I wish the engagement point was a little closer to the floor. Say 1/2 way up instead of 3/4 like that.

1700 rpms? I leave every stop light above that, LOL! Sorry the centerforce didn't work for you. I wonder if the different flywheel had anything to do with it? Centerforce wants a pretty penny for their flywheel, which is why i didn't buy their clutch.
