Default Dead serious about a new exhaust......

Yes I started another thread. I am going for a new exhaust but what do you guys think is the best and what is the prices for fabrication and install? Also I got 4.10's, Steeda CAI, UDP's and a Brenspeed tune, if I get a new exhaust do I need to buy another tune?

I just installed some boomtubes on mine, bone stock otherwise. They sound amazing, but no power change from exhaust from what i understand. Unless you go all out and do mid pipes with high flow cats and/or headers. Cat back and axle back is 100% about sound.

if you just want the loud, axle back is the way to go. Boomtubes scream at WOT, but are quite mellow when cruising at reasonable speeds and low rpm. Nice throaty rumble at idle, burbles and crackles when downshifting, or coasting and letting the engine do some braking. I love it.

PS
i've only had it installed for a day, but i'm already in love with it!

Seriously?

Go to Youtube and search for different setups to know what they sound like.

Asking what would be better is such a subjective POV that theres no point in asking.

How loud are you wanting to go? If you want loud just do SLP's with an O/R H or X pipe. Search youtube like said and see what you like. BTW most vids do not do an H/X pipe justice in how loud they are.

Best bet is to listen to other S197s in person. I am sure there are local mustang chapter in your area. Youtube is okay, but you will not always get a clear indication of how the exhaust will really sound. I recorded a few exhaust clips of my car. I was using a fuji point and shoot video camera. In person my car sounds a lot better than it does on video.

I went to a mustang car show today, so I got to hear a few different exhaust. One owner had SLP LMw with the stock catted H. That was loud enough. I am not sure what to think of the overall tone. Maybe a little too sloppy for my taste. Another owner had JBA L/T catted X and borla stingers. Sounded aggressive, but a little too raspy. Even though I don't have them, for the price, boomtubes are a good option.

BoomTubes hands down.

Not as raspy as the SLP LM deletes; not as much drone as the 5GT/Stingers.

If anyone is looking for a pair of BT's that are very very clean PM me.

Videos on a 3V here and look through her videos because she has some of the most accurate clips.
