ghettoct,
thanks. i got it out earlier. wow, its loud at WOT!
I was actually thinking the same thing, to cut it in half to give an inbetween sound level.
so you just cut to be shorter, but same diameter right? to fit right back in but now is half as long?
did that work out well?
I guess you could always put back together and stuff both halfs back in if not right?

Default sound

thats right, just cut half the length and iam sure you will love the sound, and can put the other half back in if you decide to go back to the stock sound. i personally love the half foam sound.

A few questions...

Under the hood, how do you get to the foam? More specifically, how do you separate the two parts of the sound induction tube? Do you twist them like a screw, or do you just need to yank on them?

Also, how many pieces of foam are there? I know there is at least one under the hood, and then another under the steering column.

Thanks in advance..

can't remember how i took off firewall, but inside car reach up by clutch pedal, if have 6 spd, you can pull out, never pull one from under hood cause removed whole part, just look at page 1 and look all examples.

I was wondering about the foam plug in the sound induction tube.
If it is on the suction side of the intake air filter, and you remove the foam,
will the engine then suck in dirty unfiltered air thru that hole??
Is the foam actually an air filter of sorts??

foam can be taken out from the interior, there is a small hole in fire wall just by where your left foot would rest , just insert a nice pair of forcepts or tweesers and pull the foam out... that simple, its on the diaphagm side of the noise induction tube so no contaminated air can reach the intake. took all of 1 min to remove.

Had taken the foam plug out of the induction tube a while ago.. loved the sound. Took the foam out of the firewall today.. and it is MUCH louder.. surprised me even. I can see why maybe cutting the firewall foam in half might be a good idea. I'll leave it all out for now.. I can finally hear what the car is doing with the windows up

So there is the foam in the footwell as well as a piece at the other end of the tube? How hard is it to get that one out?
