Exclamation Help with exhaust opinion!

I currently have a 2009 GT/CS and i have a couple fo questions regarding exhaust.
First , I have not checked but i was told my car comes with stock magnaflows in the back , is that true?

Also, what are the advantages of shorty headers over long tube headers or vice versa?

Lastly, for exhaust, if i want a deep sound but with no cracking on high rpms what do you guys reccomend?

Magnflows are not standard on our cars. If you bought your car used, the previous owner could have put magnaflows on. Don't rely on the muffler/exhaust tip. When I bought my car, it had flowmaster with magnaflow tips. If you are going to change headers, get L/T. They produce more power and sound better. If emmissions are an issue, just keep the stock headers. If you want a deep sound exhaust your best bet is magnpacks, borla, MACs or bassani race-just to name a few. The downside is, deep exhaust usually produce drone or interior resonance.

I wouldn't fool around with shorty's on a s197. Lt's are great if you can afford them and have time for the install(or labor cost). If you're looking for some start mods, a custom tune or gears would be great. Check out your axlebacks by the name on the tip if they're magnaflows. Did your dealer install them and mark price up or previous owner?

i figured the LT would be the way to go , but what is the point of shorties then ? I already upgraded tto a bbk tb , bbk intake , steeda underdrive pulley , strut bar , diablosport predator tune , and eibach pro kit springs.....wanted to spend some time on the exhaust and sounds so i was wondering what all of you had to say .

A lot of people like boomtubes. From the vids I have heard they sound good, but I have yet to here them in person. A friend of mine installed JBA shorties. He said he felt a little gain in power, but it made the exhaust a little quieter.

So hard to choose exaust. Exhaust sound in videos is different that in real life. I love deep aggressive exhaust with the nice pop while decelerating, but droning is a concern.
