I put the AM thunder axelbacks on my 05 GT almost 5 years ago and love them. Perfect fitment the first time, and no issues of any kind. I don't notice a "drone" but they are a bit louder than stock but not irritating like the SLP loudmouths. Those mufflers sound fantastic with long tubes and hi flo cats.

I got mine on eBay for less than any of the the vendors but it was so long ago I don't remember the actual price, but $309 doesn't sound too bad.

Good luck to you what ever you decide...

for the most part, when you deal with mufflers...to get a nice aggressive sound you'll most likely deal with drone around 2,000 rpm. It's all about what you want more, better/louder sound will equal more drone.

I've had them on for about 4 years. Drone has never been an issue for me.

I have them with an H PIPE and Detroit Rocker cams and the would trumpet bad. The drone was not bad at all and i actually liked it but the trumpeting was just too much. I think its more significant with cars that are autos. I put on some HI FLO CATS and it has resolved my issue and now my exhaust is awesome

I got my GT in 2006 and put the 60 series on them. I loved them. After 4 years, the insides went bad and started to rattle really bad. I decided to purchase the newly released 40 series... bad idea. Drone is HORRIBLE and ever time i accelerate, there is a loud popping sound from 2k-2,5k RPM. Now, keep in mind, i have pypes long tubes and off road h. I wish i could go back to the 60 series. Just sounded soooooo much better in my opinion. The 40 series sound nice on earlier cars but you really need more pipe after the exit of the muffler like on the 04 of before mustangs.

Thanks for the replies. I did a little more research and decided to hold off and get a set of the Corsa's. Unfortunately they are twice the price but will be worth it.

You can hear the new Roush system here:

I think they sound nice, and they advertise no drone.
