09 GT low oil alert after hard acceleration
Hey everyone,
I have a moderately modified 09 GT (intake, throttle body, tune, gears, exhaust) which I often like to drive in a "spirited" maner. This morning on my way to work, I set up my SCT iTsx tuner, because I leave so early, the road is often mine, and due to the long straight road with many lights, I sometimes like to open the "performance" option and get a rough idea of my quarter mile and such. Anyway, I accelerated from a stop quarter mile style, and upon deceleration my low oil alert came on briefly. This is the second time this has happened, and I was wondering if anyone had experianced this or knew what may cause this. Thanks a lot!

Oil filter was done with my last oil change just a little over a month/just about 3000 miles ago. I used a motorcraft filter and Mobil 1 oil in the recommended weight, using the 5 quart jug and a little extra for good measure. This has only happened twice, the first time being a little more severe. It doesn't happen very often, but I love my car and want to keep it healthy.

You need 6 quarts. I add 6.5 myself, which brings the level just over the full mark. Just a little piece of mind when taking it to red line. I've read somewhere that these oil pans actual hold 7 quarts.

Then the OP is already at least a quart low starting off. Add that in with "spirited driving" and he may not have but 3 1/2 quarts in the pan at any given moment and that is sloshing in the pan. I do not recall windage trays in the stock oil pan of a GT 4.6.
