My opinion on TCI tranny is it is TCI, which many of their products seem prone to failure.
I see some people have had good results but I have actually read more than one person that had quick failure of TCI tranny.

Ever since my whipple, i had a custom dyno tune. i have a 3.625 pulley on right now, and just switched to a jdm email tune just for the transmission tune. The transmission now feels MUCH better driving aorund the city. The 210.00 was well worth it just for the transmission tune itself, and i think it may actually outperforms my dyno tune. Most tuners will say, "yeh i can tune it" but in reality, they do not have much experience. JDM specializes in these 5r55s tunes. Go with them. i will be taking the car in to have the email tune tweaked to make sure A/F is fine on the dyno some time next week.

BTW im making 419rwhp on 3.625 pulley(on custom dyno tune)

just do yourself a favor and get the tune from jdm for the transmission. The tune is the ost important upgrade u can do for your car at your power level. I have seen built transmissions take a **** on themselves because the transmission's tune was terrible. Just because you upgrade the tranny, doesnt make you immune to a great tranny tune.

Is your car a DD? I found that locked tranny tunes were very high reving in the city for my daily driving.I had a JDM a couple years ago and I really had troubles getting it to shift in city driving. But once I got on the highway the shifting was excellent.Next winter I'll buy a beater and once again get one of his tunes when I make this car my toy.

There's more than one company out there who knows how to tune the 5R55 torque parameters in order to keep longevity in mind at that power level.

You can get just a trans. tune only ? How do they shift as a DD. Mine now shifts really fast to a higher gear, its in over drive at 40. Also how do you change the wot shift rpm's with the SCT 2.

Yes my car is driven everyday. My DD. But yeh Chrisrose is right. AM/Bama and jdm both know how to tune the 5r55. Doug actually i believe was the first to tune them......

I was going to ask if you wanted to share . . . now, I'm going to give you a call on Monday to see how you do!

Mine did the same - shift into OD at 40 mph. Not only annoying, but it cannot be good for the trans or motor. I went through two other tunes before I had JDM do a tune. The JDM is a night and day difference. No problems in the city for a DD and nice at WOT. I have a PI TC and FFRP TB in the garage awaiting install and having JDM write a new tune for this set up as we speak.

In my limited experience, there appears to be a big difference in a 5R55S tune with FI and N/A.

for NA they can make the shifts very firm and hard but for FI they have to have less pressure due to more power obviously
