i was considering using the 302 from brenspeed and pairing that with something like the "top end" package from ford racing here:

i wonder how well this would work... hmmmmm

it would work great. the issue is cost vs. HP gains. You would likely get to about 380-400 RWHP. but at a cost of over $6,000 in parts alone. figure $500 for tuning/dyno time...and about $1,000 if you paid for the install.

that's damn near $8000...probably more just to build a N/A motor. a solid motor granted...but alot of damn money for only about 400 RWHP.

any of the cheapy $4,000 blowers will get you in the same RWHP range. paying 2x the money is hard to justify IMO

edit: revise my #'s. B302 is $3,400. FRPP stuff is $3,700 + tuning + labor...going to say it's more likely to spend $9,000 for this N/A setup

but it also gives me a solid block to allow some safer boosting.

also ford advertises about 380 rwhp (440 flywheel @ around 7k rpm), would the lower compression really affect the power that much where i would be in the same spot after going to the brenspeed block?

at first yep. the lower compression is going to drop your HP.

but all the other FRPP goodies ontop of the B302 block would offset that. I'm fairly confident in saying you could expect the 380-400 RWHP. with boost, that motor would really shine though since you could turn up the boost safely

hmm maybe i should research further then that would be around 15k for reliable boost, or 11k if i skip the top end package.

i was hoping to stay N/A, maybe higher compression pistons with the B302, considering they advertise the blocks as custom/hand-built it could be a low cost option.

what are your overall HP considerations? your 4.6 can handle alot of boosted HP safely for years.

if you only want enough to kill a 2011 5.0, then simply get a blower and have fun.

the 5.0 is not my target. i track my car frequently and i want to stay N/A because i dont wan't to mess up the balance/ weight of the car. i would be satisfied with anything between 450 rwhp and 500 rwhp

my goal would be between 500-550 as safe as possible

i'm sure i'd be more than happy with the 420-480 that superchargers are "safely" putting out. but the added assurance of a built block would be icing on the cake.

i'd more than likely have a cam put in while the block and 4.6 stuff were being swapped around as it would make sense to do it while it was taken apart

what about putting a bottle on that motor if it is all forged internals and low compression sounds cheeper 2 go down that road. unless u need 400+ hp on tap at all times.
