Default Should I get a 2011 GT?

Hello..newbie here. But I've been lurking for a long time.

I want a 2011 GT, but I have some doubts about it. This would be my daily driver. I only put 4000 miles/yr on, work very close to home. I can drive stick but found it to be a job after a while, so I prefer automatic. I have a driveway but I can't use garage. Snow... we have a few storms last winter.

I've gotten comments when I've told others about getting one.

1) Am I nuts, what a waste of money?
2) Get a 4dr, with plenty of backseat room (I rarely use backseats though)
3) You're 6' 2", you won't fit, get an SUV or truck.
4) All that power is a waste if you can't use it.
5) Not a comfortable ride.
6) It's a car for 20 yr olds, not in your 40s.
7) Get a maxima, or acura. you will appreciate the luxury/comfort as you get older.
8) It's lousy in the snow
9) Am I going thru a midlife crisis?

I would be keeping it a long time, so I have to make sure.

I just put a $500 down payment on the 2011 GT ...Soon to be delivered in 6-8 weeks...This is the Mustang I've been waiting for ............32 valve V 8 412 hp revs at 7000 rpm...what else is there to say.....Oh one other thing is the six speed manual...REMEMBER IT'S A MUSCLE CAR ! Having a hard time sleeping at night dreaming of this car, but soon my dream will come true !

To the OP, you seem to be a perfect candidate for getting a steal on a left over 2010 GT.

You don't seem to really desire or have great enthusiasm over having 412 hp.
You don't seem to drive enough to really want or need the power.
Or, get a 2011 Mustang V6.

But I think if I were you, I'd find a near loaded 2010 GT with 5 speed auto and drive a deal of around $25k, then enjoy it for as long as you wish.

I just turned 41, and have a '11 on order. Get what you like, to hell with what everyone says.

If the power isn't that important, then I agree, get a deal on a '10.

1)May be expensive but an SUV,Maxima, Acura ain't cheap either.
2)you rarely use the backseat
3)I'm 6'1" and find it comfortable
4) may be a waste but what a lot of fun. The 2010 and earlier are fast, but the 2011 will be really awesome.
5) they are surprisingly comfortable
6)It's a car for neither 20 yr or 40 yr olds. It is definetely a car for 50 yr olds though
7) see 6 above
8)don't know, never take mine in the snow
9)not yet, wait till your 50

The dudes wife looked at my car smirked and then looked me in the eye and said how old are you. I looked her right back in and told her i was old enough to buy what i wanted. Buy what you like, not what others think you need. someone always knows better than you how you shoudl spend your money
