There is a time slip page on this site that may be helpful. It's in the 'street/strip' section of 'speed zone'.

manual is quicker. they have run low 13s bone stock. I never heard any autos running better than what? 13.7? 13.8?

Depends. Is Manuel running from the cops?
If it's dark he can prob jump a couple fences and lose them.

That depends, if both drivers are crappy, then the guy with the auto stands a chance. Being that there's far more possibility for user error on a manual than with an auto.

But assuming the guy driving the manual isn't a terrible shifter then he should be able to win out.

In a perfect world the manual would win due to less parasitic drivetrain loss. In the real world stock for stock it will rely more on the driver.

Sorry.. i meant to say with good drivers, not a lot of standard drivers can keep up with an auto, none can shift as fast. lol

They say a human isn't as fast to shift as an auto. Auto trans weighs more, with a good driver the stick has the advantage as the drive controls the shift point where the smart auto may choose to shift premature! That said I am amazed that my friend with an auto 4.0 and the only difference is CAI & tune as far as mods are in comparison is running 1 second faster (14.3 vs 15.2) me 94 mph him 95

I have a friend named Manuel and he can't drive a manual to save his life.

Even if the auto wins, the manual has more "cool" factor which is a bigger win.
