Default LSD Question

I wanted to know if the Eaton Trutrac LSD 31 spline will work with my stock 8.8 axles?

Good choice, but overkill (vs the stock lsd) for your power levels.

If he goes to the track often it's not over kill. The stock unit will go out after limited track use with sticky tires.

I agree if you're looking into drag radials or slicks then a differential upgrade is always a good idea.

The truetrac is a really good piece. I blew the stock spider gears all to pieces in my 03. I upgraded to the truetrac and installed moser axles but my mistake was sticking with the 28 spline setup. Get a rear end girdle with jack bolts as well. If you don't and get the car up to around the 500 rwhp mark the caps holding the locker and ring gear in will flex out causing the teeth on the ring gear and pinion to pull away from each other. Then the teeth will break off the ring gear. Those chunks of teeth are what got caught in my spider gears causing them to explode.
