Default 2006 Mustang GT Acceleration issue 1st to 2nd gear

When I start to take off at a gradual speed from first gear to second and just give it normal acceleration it hesistates "hiccups" like it is going to die. RPMs are between 800-2000 just depends on the speed I am going. This all seems to be happening under 30mph. Once I hit 2nd gear it stops. It is just from stop and go basically. If I let go of the gas or give it more power it stops the hiccuping. I put in premium gas all the time, I thought it might have been bad gas, this has been happening probably for a month now. Once I get from first to second gear everything is fine and it drives normal. I do not have this problem from coming off the free way. It seems to happen when I first start the car up for the day or after sitting for a long period of time. It seems to be similiar to others who have this happen after getting off the freeway. I never had this issue before and I have been using the following mods since 6,000 miles on my vehicle. I believe it is the fuel pump, I have not done heavy acceleration, maybe on the rare occasion. Would this be covered under warranty? I know the fuel pump for the other cars similiar seem to be covered. Dealing with the FORD SERVICE "advisors" is dealing with car salesmen a pain in the rear. Sometimes I wish I could just deal with the mechanic haha.

My guess is either Fuel pump or maybe the fuel filter is plugged?

Thanks for any and all help

It doesn't sound fuel pump related to me but OTHER fuel delivery or ignition (and I doubt the later). IMO, the most simple things to try first would be 1) clean the TB, 2) run a tank or 2 with the proper SeaFoam or Techron mix and 3) replace the fuel filter. If you haven't done those recently, you're due at 48,000 miles.

If those don't help, try returning to the stock airbox and tune to rule out your custom tune. Have you swapped to one of your other custom tunes?

my stang is doing the exact same thing, I just had the fuel filter changed yesterday, so I am waiting to see if it happens again.

Make sure that your CAI is fitting snug all the way around the TB and has not slipped of a bit. Is it not throwing you a CEL?

I will check my TB/CAI when I get home from work today. It was actually very difficult to get the CAI to fit the bigger throttle body.

The CEL "check engine light" DOES NOT come on.

You may have a firing problem. I just got through working on my 2002 F150. It was missing a little at first, then got progressively worse. I thought the transmission was slipping it was so light. The auto transmissions are notorious for that with a lot of miles. A slipping transmission and a plug grounding out will not throw you a code.

I recommend changing the filter anyway, you're about due for one. the issue is mine doesn't do it all the time, and I cannot recreate it on command. might be a while before I know whether or not it worked, by then I plan on having the tranny flush, and a tune up done, and might install a CAI depending on finances.

Clean the TB and change fuel filter would be my guess.
