A few of the comparison tests has the Camaro still slightly faster than the 5.0 Mustang, but its close. I'd say that it's a driver's race. Throw in some twisties though, and I think the Mustang wins, though even with the extra weight, the Camaro is no slouch either.

I also think the 3.73 in there will really seal the deal. My buddy got a 2010 SS 6speed..few times we ran them he only had about half a fender on me. I think my 3.73 really help

I have not raced one yet my brother-in-law is getting one next year I love arguing with him on this one from what I have read and from driving the car I think it comes down to the torque - the camaro has more but the mustang has a better top end so it is all about getting to the top end quicker I have the 3:73as well but I think 4:10 will really wake the car up in the end I told my inlaw get the camaro and we will have some fun but no matter what I will always beat you and I will spend less doing it

The gearing you have will be a good factor.
Go from a dig and race long enough also to let your top end really play a role too.

Drive right and you should have him I'd say.
BTW... if his was an auto you'd REALLY have him.
From everyone I have talked to... the auto is WEAK sauce in the new SS.

BTW I still can't believe my buddies stock BOSS ran a 7.7 stock except the tires in
the 1/8. He DID do it though. Got it on video at the track! He's a real life buddy
and it was a legit run no doubt.

I know the BOSS is a beefier 5.0 but still that is damn quick.
Quicker than what I thought it would be stock.

Taking a BOSS to the drag strip is kind of like taking a .50 cal sniper rifle dove hunting. Will it work? Yes. Will it kill some doves? Absolutely (if you can aim well). And yet...

The BOSS was meant to live at a track with corners.

Anyway, I've embarrassed a couple of Camaro SSs already, and I just have a tune.
