These 2 piece drive shafts (and the entire drive train, to be honest) are clunky to begin with. Add an operator that doesn't have the feel for this driveline and it doesn't help.
You may want to shoot a little grease into the spiders to see if that helps any.

Earlier ones though (05/06), were prone to failure at the joints.
Always something...

Mine does this if I let off the clutch too quickly or before giving it a bit of gas to hold the rpms steady. Try letting the clutch out a little more slowly or giving it a little gas as you're letting out. An aftermarket driveshaft might help a little, but yeah, as far as I know, you're fine

It's the two piece driveshaft I thought something was wrong when I first got my gt a little over a year ago. Your fine. I need a solid driveshaft myself, I'll notice a quiet clunking sound when drivin slow.

And chech the driveshaft flange bolts for proper torque.
I had the excessive clunking and it was the driveshaft flange bolts.
Got the proper socket and some blue loctite and re-torqued them to specs.

You're not alone. I have the clunk too. Threw some aftermarket LCAs on and now it's extremely noticeable with the poly bushings...along with every other noise in the drivetrain and rear end. Sloppy drivetrain as others have said before, but love the car so it's worth living with.
