Someone put (any) piece of plastic where the plastic cup belongs on the end of the slave cylinder pushrod.
They probably had a problem with it squeaking. (metal on metal)

Couple of things to point out for ya:

1. You can post multiple pictures per post. Will save you a lot of time rather than creating a post for each photo. Just keep pasting the links line after line.

2. For the love of mike, get some fender protectors on there! One wrong slip of a tool, the engine as it's going in, etc, and you'll have a nice long scratch down the fender. I can't tell you how many times my covers saved me during my swap.

Did you already order your gasket set? If not, Ford Racing Performance Parts (FRPP) sells the headgasket/bolt kits WAY cheaper than the standard dealership parts, and they're the same part number. Even the guy at Ford I spoke with was scratching his head on that one. I ordered mine from Tousley Ford if I remember right.
