Camaros flood the market?
#41
I like the Camaro, but the Mustang is just a better bargain. I was reading a Camaro forum just yesterday and they were bragging about how the Camaro has out sold the Mustang all year. I was thinking that's perfect for Mustang owners. If Chevy floods the market with Camaros, that will hopefully make the Mustang worth more on trade a few years down the road.

Glad to see the Maro selling and I wish it'd be the same for all GM cars.
I hate the thought of bailing out these bastards again.
Everything is relative though...
Here in Orlando, I definitely see more Camaros than before but the Stangs seem to show in bigger numbers still.

What is surprising is GM is recovering, at least from a salespoint. They saw maybe 15% increase in sales IIRC. Even more surprising are Chrysler sales. They saw over 20% sales increase. And I believe it too.
In my neighborhood, I am the only one with a 10+ GT and there are a few 10+ base Stangs. I see only one 10+ Camaro, an SS, no others in my hood. I do see like 6 or more Challengers in my hood. Sixxers or v8s I cannot tell.

I think we should have never bailed them out. Some other person or company or group of investors would have bought g.m. and probably done better with the company. But I guess we live in a world of entitlement

GM is already announcing the release of the ZL1 for next year, but unfortunately, the GT500 will not match it. The all alum Condor in the '12 GT500 will remain the same as the '11 GT500, still st 550 BHP and 510 ft-lbf crank. The ZL1 is currently rumored to pump out 580 BHP cank and just as much torque also at the crank. Its LSA engine replaces the whipple lobe SC for the Eaton identical twin screws.
Knowing this, I wonder why Ford has not decided to match the power on the '12 GT500's Condor by going with the Eaton screws? They already were doing to do so, to push output to ~575 BHP crank and hopefully just as much torque at the crank.
Speaking of bailout, I am of this serious opinion: to help bring back jobs and to stimulate the economy by getting Americans to spend more, a bailed out company must be made to bring back jobs on American soil and pay the workers decent wages and benefits so the workers can actually have money to spend and support the economy.
Damn straight. Maybe Ford would have bought them. And in doing so, spare the endeavors that are on American soil and scrap the outsourcing endeavors to save money.
