Question Nitto NT05 or NT555?

Not ready to get tires yet, but when I do I plan on getting Nitto's. I just can't decide between the NT05 and the NT555. I don't drag race my car and will rarely take it out on track because there aren't any good tracks nearby. It's mostly a daily driver (for now). But, I do a lot of spirited driving on winding country roads as well. So, is the NT05 too extreme for my needs? I really like them and am trying to rationalize purchasing them.

if you can afford the NT05's, get them. better traction with the NT05's.
the 555's are a pretty good tire for DD too. i have the 555's on both my Mustangs, very good all around tire.

If you dont really drag race, I would go with the 555. Both are a good tire but designed specifically for different things. NT05 is a drag tire that is street legal and 555 is a street tire that's decent at dragging.

I bought a set of 555's last night. They're way better than the crappy Riken Raptors they replaced.

I got the 555Rs because they last longer. I value the money I make staying in my account more than running a .2 or so better ET and giving it to the tire companies. Just my $0.02.

The 555's are much better than stock tires but if it was my choice for GRIP I would go with the NT05's.
Even though they don't last as long and you have to be more careful when there are wet roads.

When I run these stockers bald I will probably end up going with a set of NT05's.
I'm not doing it now because I plan on getting some bigger black rims.
Bigger because there is SUCH a SMALL market for aftermarket 18's that clear the GT500 front breaks. So I don't wanna buy the NT05's for 18's when I will be switching to 19's later and have to replace the tires AGAIN before they need to be.
