it would be nice if there were a better way to sort and filter. Shows in the past should not even show up. it would be great if we can filter by date range and zipcode or areacode.

We're working on refining the search function and will definitely look in to the logistics of adding in those functions.
As for past shows, we've had a few show runners specifically ask us to keep their prior shows up. The reason for this is that they can reuse the information for a future event, and also more easily illustrate how long they have been around to potential sponsors. I know it muddies things up a few pages in, but, we haven't figured out a better way to handle that without making website use more complicated.
