Default How to Data Log

Hi Guys,

I am seriously computer challenged. I want to datalog using my SCT Tuner so that I can send the file(s) to Justin at VMP and perhaps one other place. But I have no idea how to do this.

I went to the VMP website and read some things on datalogging, but it was right over my head.

Is there a simple way to do this? Can I plug the SCT into the OBDII port and just record or something?

Any input is appreciated!

Thanks!

I dont remember the exact procedure but I did post a thread about how to do it. I think it might be over at s197forums.com though. Just do a search with my name. You need to load livewire software on your pc then go through the steps. I was able to successfully get some logs while making runs at the track. I was never able to connect my wideband though. I could not get the analog formula worked out.

yeah just make sure you have a decent amount of open road to do it. The best is obviously the highway if you can. You usually need to do pulls from about 20mph to 80mph....

I am suppose to data log mine for Brenspeed and they sent me the instructions. If I read it correctly, you have to have a laptop and software loaded on it to even begin. I don't have a laptop so I think I'm hosed.

laptop + software + plugging it in is the easy part. the difficult part is figuring out which parameters to datalog. vmp and brenssped shoul dhave some instructions on which ones they want.

Yeah there are a sh#tload of pids. Stick to the ones in capitols. Ask your tuner exactly which ones he needs. Jdm told me which ones.

I attached a zipped CF3 file with the required parameters. Also check this write up out. Great info.

You need to download LiveLink 6.4. Go to the SCT website to download it. Put in your handheld's serial number and it will give you the downloads for your device.

I just datalogged my stang the other day for brenspeed. The instructions were nice and they should send you the pids they need to look over what they want to see. I went to youtube and there was a guy that explained it in detail how to setup. It was damn cool when I did it. Unfortunately it was raining when I did mine but I went ahead and did it. My car is in the norm though.
