Default am I missing something?

I bought an Pypes O/R X pipe off of craigslist and think that I may be missing a piece. After reading the write up on American Muscle for how to do the install is seems that I may be missing the "inserts" mentioned in step 1 of "installing the x-pipe". My car is a 2010. Please see photos of what I have bought and the attached PDF file.

I have not installed this yet on my car, but I bought an o/r x-pipe used and have not installed the legs (only the splice in part).

That is the first time I have ever seen mention of "inserts". Hopefully someone that has actually done this will chime in.

I just cant imagine what those would be....gaskets?

I'm going to guess "no" on this one...due to the fact i've never used gaskets on a ball and socket exhaust connection! When you remove your factory H-pipe look to see if there's one from the factory..if so, reuse it. But if not, and there is no exhaust leak present, I wouldn't be concerned about it.
