2008 Bullitt Exhaust Drone and popping
#11
It's very common when a lot of us get a stang the first thing we want to do is make it louder with a new muffler setup. Many mods later we realize duh....it's too loud now. Lol
LTs are deep and loud but when you add cams...........it's game over you need a more stock like muffler.

Finished the floorboards and underneath the back seat with DynaPad. Drone is gone! Dropping Comp Cams 127200 in tomorrow. Then later, Kooks so that I can realize some gains from the cam. Then heads are next. The fun never ends with these cars...

808, indeed it is no longer stealth. The cams increased the volume by 10db as measured by my sound meter and my bleeding ears Deeper tone, incredible sound, but too much for the local constable And drone is back with a vengenance. So l put the Corsa Extremes back on, very raspy and still about as high pitched as before. Sounds like something other than a Mustang though. So I pulled the stock Bullitt mufflers out of the attic and bolted them back on, they sound better now with the deeper tone and increased volume but still too quiet. GT 500KR might be next option till I get the Kooks. You were right, change one thing and it's back to the drawing board. Good news is the Comp Cams 127200 are sweet. A little loss down low but they make up for it after 2500 or so. I'm getting a custom tune tomorrow to hopefully to pick up a bit over my email tune.

The stock Bullitt exhaust is sounding even better after getting a custom tune - also added 10hp and 5lb torque over the email tune (and 20hp gain at 6K where the email tune started running lean). I don't know how a tune can change the exhaust note though. Throttle is much more responsive as well. For anyone in the area, I recommend Fastlane in Benson, NC for upgrades, tunes, etc. 322 RWHP 319 Torque now.
