Video of UPR’s 2010 GT running 9.90 @ 133

I just checked in with the boss. The car has a Circle D converter, and the clutches in the factory 5r55 were upgraded while the car was apart.
One note about needing a JDM longblock and Roush blower... You know, I own an 06 GT. I'll confess to having a little bit of Coyote envy, but this car certainly shows that you can get it done with a 3V. And the right suspension, of course.

Thanks guys. Yeah, that launch is violent!

LOL!
I'm with ya man. If I was very wealthy, there's no doubt I'd have an '11+ GT or a GT500. But here in the real world, I have an '06 GT with some miles on it that I'm hoping to pay off in a year or so. While it IS tempting to buy one of these newer cars, I really don't want a $600-1000 a month car payment.
I have the UPR Pro Street suspension on my car, so I'm happy with how it handles. But I do have some horsepower envy. Obviously, the JDM longblock with the Roush TVS blower makes serious horsepower, but it also maintains good street manners. What's not to like?
As you mentioned, the horsepower craze never ends. You can get so caught up in the competition, that the next thing you know, your daily driver has a 427" SBF with a cog-driven ProCharger. (ask me how I know... LOL!) But seriously, our convertible with 700 STREETABLE hp to the tire is just an absolute pleasure to drive. It's smooth and comfortable, but absolutely violent when you drop the hammer.
I tell ya, I'm not a new car guy, but when I saw that new 2013 GT 500 car and specs I considered trading my 06' GT vert on one when they become available. But at close to 60k for a 2013 vert I doubt I'm going to want to go through with it. I must say after watching the video of your UPR vert, I would love to drop a powertrain setup similar to yours in mine someday and blow those new GT500s off the map lol. But I'm sure people will be taking those new GT500's and tweaking them to a 1000 hp. Hell....it never ends lol.
