8-rib alternator pulley
I have been converting my 2008 to an 8-rib setup. All went well until I got to the alternator pulley. It has a clutch pulley and the new 8 rib pulley does not , is there a 8-rib clutch pulley available? I had read it was not ok to replace the clutch pulley w/ a standard pulley, but I don't know if that is true. thanks for any help.

Yes there is. PM me I might be able to get you one. I found one for my 2010 which uses a Denso alternator not a Motorcraft. But I have buddy in the alternator business so after the holiday I can find out. The clutch pully is a good idea it can save you gas and even save you bit of HP.

Yes the alternator has a one way clutch to help keep the belt from slipping/jumping when you close the throttle quickly. It allows the alternator's centrifical force to free spool. 908ssp helped me out and it fit perfect. Would recommend to anyone looking for 8 rib clutch pulley.
