In before the ole "you can build a GT to smoke a Boss for way cheaper" comment comes flying in.

You can build a GT to smoke a Boss for way cheaper.....

I love how if you Google the 2012 Lightning Lap and read some of the comments on non-Mustang forums, everyone seems to be either complaining that the Boss 302 LS had R-Comp tires, and cheap interiors, etc etc. It's quite comical and I think C&D and Ford has really struck a nerve that is aggravating the foreign performance car market.

It beat the Lotus Evora? Wow! That's my favorite car to race on Real Racing

Go to the February issue, it gives the previous years (5 of them) results along the bottom in order of performance. You could also go to prior years issue. Last year (2011) they tested the GT(3:08.6) & GT500 (3:04.0) & V6 (3:12.5). Note that it is not accurate to rate from one year to another since the track conditions could be different, and driver experience could be different. But yet, the Boss does beat them both (3:02.8)

Note that the Mustang V6 ties for best of class (all years). Class is based on price.

Here is a link to the full article of last years test. http://www.caranddriver.com/features...p-2011-feature you will have to go the the current magazine for this years test.
